Cgminer vs sgminer gpu intensity 311/18/2024 ![]() As soon as I login, the xserver crashes and takes me back to the login menu.Īfter searching through a bunch of online forums, the AMD drivers most people recommend for sgminer are 12.4 and 12.8. 12.4 installs great, but when I reboot the computer, I can't go to the desktop. 12.6 wouldn't even download (Come on, AMD.). It won't be a night-and-day difference now, but sgminer will likely incorporate bug fixes, small hashrate tweaks, etc as it diverges away from the old code. It also brings maximum transparency with his powerfull log viewer. Displays hash rate, accepted/invalid and total shares in the past hour, earnings and many other features. 12.8 wouldn't install because it was whining that there was no " /lib/modules/3.13.0-30-generic/build/include/linux/version.h" file. I think the biggest 'pro' is that sgminer is being actively developed, where cgminer for scrypt stopped at 3.7.2. Easyminer its a lightweight mining software, low on Cpu and Gpu resources depending only on libcurl and jansson. The 14.04 driver installed great but still had the sgminer problems. I've also tried installing the Catalyst drivers directly from AMD's website. Get started with CGMiner Version: 3.7.2 File: cgminer.exe, SHA256: 417b22681a716e2481fde1fcaed96d66a5716a188186a4ae765d558d4a7ec2f5 (Download for Linux) Download Now. They install fine, but sgminer has problems with them. I've tried using the fglrx and fglrx-updates drivers in Ubuntu's "Additional Drivers" settings. I've installed version 2.7 of the APP SDK, which is recommended for 7970 GPU's. I've spent hours trying to figure this out. I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit, and I'm 99% sure it's a driver problem. This is a multi-threaded multi-pool GPU miner with ATI GPU monitoring, (over)clocking and fanspeed support for scrypt-based cryptocurrency. Also, when the shares are being rejected, the GPU is only running 350-400 khash/s. I've tried switching my thread-concurrency between 40, and I've also tried taking off all of the parameters but "-o", "-u", "-p", and "-I". If I put the intensity to 16 or below, I get 100% rejected shares. Developed with the assistance of Wolf0, sgminer-gm gives you the best of both worlds when it comes to Ethereum mining, including: Getwork and Stratum Support. All settings can all be changed within the menu on the fly on a per-GPU basis. The setting passed to sgminer is used by all GPUs unless separate values are specified. If I put my intensity over 16, I get the dreaded " GPU 0: invalid nonce: HW error". sgminer supports initial setting of GPU engine clock speed, memory clock speed, voltage, fanspeed, and the undocumented powertune feature of 69x0+ GPUs. Sgminer doesn't work with the new GPU installed. The higher the number the larger the size of work. I was getting about 580 khash/s with that APU. From cgminer's README: INTENSITY INFORMATION: Intensity correlates with the size of work being submitted at any one time to a GPU. Previously, I was running lasybear's sgminer on an AMD Kaveri A10-7850K APU. I recently put in an AMD Radeon HD7970 GPU in my desktop. Is there a correct config for a 290x since apparently the ones on the litecoin wiki are incorrect?Įdit: It's working now thanks man! Still getting a little lower KH then the card is apparently supposed to at 850 with others saying the Tri-X gets 1000, but I'm fine with it.This is a Linux issue trying to set up and mine with a new GPU.
